Léa Porré

Léa Porré is a French-Belgian artist, born in 1996 and based in London. A graduate of the Royal College of Art (2021) and Central Saint Martins (2018), she explores cyclical time through the interweaving of memory, history, and myth. By deeply mapping historical and sacred sites and symbols, she reimagines these landscapes through 3D world-building, creating videos, installations, sculptures, and framed paintings.

Her work envisions impossible encounters that resist the constraints of linear temporality, constructing transhistorical narratives where reality blends with dreams and folktales to channel healing into our complex heritage.

Fiction as method is key in Porré’s practice, transforming landscapes and motifs into sites of eerie resonance and hauntological reflection. Examining fragments of cultural memory, her work reveals the edges where history and geology dissolve into myth. These imagined terrains evoke the spectral presence of the past, assembling traces into narratives that unsettle yet enchant.

Porré’s immersive installations blend digital and traditional craftsmanship, forming mnemonic environments that recall labyrinthine video game quests. Large-scale wallpapers act as portals to CGI-crafted worlds, while intricate sculptural details and ornamental elements are arranged in mandala-like formations. These symbolic landscapes invite viewers into an explorative déambulation across time and space, where the interplay of traces, fragments, and the «wyrd» opens pathways for reflecting on the cyclical nature of time and reimagining cultural memory.
